   A. Our residential products are certified for use in the United States and Canada.
2. Can your string inverters be used in off-grid applications?
   A. No, our inverters are designed for use in grid-tied applications and cannot be altered or reconfigured in any way for off-grid use.
3. Can your string inverters work with another DC source besides PV, such as wind or hydro?
   A. Our inverters are designed and warranted for PV use only. Our inverters have been used in applications other than PV, but this is done at the installer’s risk and does void the warranty.
4. Can your string inverters be used with a generator to continue power generation in the event of a power outage?
   A. No, our inverters are not designed to be used with a generator. If a generator is to be used on the same installation, the inverter must be installed on the utility side of a transfer switch, thus isolating it from the generator in the event of a power outage. 5. How does the string inverter respond to a power outage?
   A. All inverters certified to UL1741 standards incorporate an anti-islanding algorithm to shut off the inverter in the event of a power outage. Once grid power is restored to the inverter, it will continue normal operation after a 5-minute start-up sequence is completed.

   A. Yes, we offer the option to have the unit manufactured with a positive ground configuration, and this must be specified at the time of purchase.
2. How many DC inputs can be installed on each PV Powered commercial inverter?
   A. The PVP30kW model accepts up to three DC inputs. The PVP75 and 100kW inverters use bus bar connections or optional fused sub-combiners available in 1, 2, 3, 6, or 9 circuit configurations. The PVP260kW uses bus bar connections or optional fused sub-combiners available in 8, 10, 16, or 20 circuit configurations.

   A. Most of our third-party monitoring providers have worked with existing BAS/EMS integration. Please contact your monitoring provider for details.
3. Can I connect sensors such as temperature, wind, and irradiance with the PV Powered data monitoring?
   A. The standard PV Powered platform does not support external sensors; however, our third-party providers allow a number of external sensor configurations provided by their monitoring package.

   A. The Intellistring requires a Modbus master device to report the data; therefore, an inverter integrated or external third-party device is required.

2. In the PV Powered string calculator, why does the Recommendations section say “Selected configuration is not compatible with inverter specification.”?
   A. The string calculator is designed to recommend configurations based on the DC operating range of each inverter. If the temperatures that are entered into the string calculator produce module voltages that cannot string within the inverter voltage range, no recommended solutions are provided. This does not mean that the module cannot be used with the inverter. Adjust the temperatures entered until a recommendation can be made to get an idea of the possible combinations.
3. The PV Powered string calculator gives a number of recommendations. How do I know which one is best?
   A. The string calculator will give you a number of recommendations based on a module's ability to work within the inverter operating limits. Ultimately it is up to the design engineer to select a configuration that best suits the needs of the proposed site.
4. In the PV Powered string calculator, why do I get a recommendation of a system that is much larger or smaller than the inverter rating?
   The string calculator gives recommendations from ~50% to 125% of inverter capacity as our inverters are designed for full power output.
